Beautiful girl on a bush fire day

Let me introduce Anna.
We had so much fun in a dirty ally way with graffiti walls, abandon buildings and greasy workshop roller doors. Lucky Anna was there to glam the place up.
All of this took place on the worst day of our bush fires.
I blogged about it last time.
Never again will I do a photo shoot with a bushfire 10km away. Lesson learnt thank you.

Smoke and Ash

Today our home town has been blanketed with smoke from an uncontrollable fire.
Part of the north side of Rockhampton resides on the bottom of a mountain, Mt Archer.
For a couple of days there has been fires burning on the side with warnings going out yesterday.
Today the severity was apparent when you couldn’t see the mountain from the other side of town, you couldn’t breathe properly from the smoke in the air, you could see ash falling every were around you and the sun was glowing red.
Some suburbs are being evacuated and fire crew have been called in from surrounding areas and major cities.
Today we watched fire trucks go past that looked like they were made to drive space crews across the moon. And helicopters carrying huge water dump buckets..
Sirens filled the air for the 3 hours I was in town and head lights had to be turned on because of the thick smoke.
This is the first time that I have been so close to something so horrific that I can remember, and I don’t want to be again.
Lets hope it doesn’t get any worse and that no people are injured or houses lots.

I did manage to grab some photos on my way home.
These pics are straight out of my camera.

This is our city. Mt Archer is behind all that and should be in plain view. The fires are off to the right.

This is the view out towards were I live. 5 kms out of town. That is the smoke cloud that stretched out past were we live. The orange is the sun trying to glow behind it.

Family of five

Over the weekend I had the privilege of taking family photos for some great friends.
They have such gorgeous boys that were perfect on the day and more then eager to have their photos taken.

On another note I have had so much going on, actually when don’t I?!
I am doing a photography workshop through the most talented Sheye Rosemeyer and organising our engagement party that is 4 weeks away. Yay, can’t wait to party.

And now for some photos.
